World-class IT Support at Down-to-Earth Prices

Shrinking budgets have put severe pressure on the IT departments of local governments and school districts throughout the U.S. Crucial maintenance is being deferred, money-saving software upgrades and hardware consolidations are being postponed, and projects designed to improve network reliability, performance, security, and functionality are being cancelled. In many cases, initiatives to save money by deploying IT resources more efficiently are put off because the in-house staff capable of managing these projects are no longer with the organization. Proteus has a proven solution.

Proteus is one of the industry’s pioneers in delivering expert remote network support and has provided IT solutions to organizations in all 50 states. (See Proteus’s customer testimonials.) Here’s how a Proteus customer described the benefits of using Proteus’s remote consulting expertise:

I just want to say thank you to Proteus and Chris for the level of support and services your company provided me… As of this year I had plans to upgrade an existing barebones server and migrate my Exchange 2003 server to Exchange 2010 on a virtual environment. I originally didn’t have much experience with Exchange 2010 or virtual machines in a production environment and I was unsure how smooth the migration process would go. However, the money that I will eventually save from switching from a bare metal to virtual server installs will basically pay for the IT consulting provided by Proteus. This was a win-win situation for me. I saved money from switching from bare metal installs to virtual and basically increased my level of comfort because I knew I would have an expert overlooking the migration process.

I also wanted to note that I have talked to three other IT consultants within my area, but none of them where able to provide the level of support that I was looking for. Out of the three companies, the first one didn’t have a lot of experience with Exchange 2010, the second company didn’t have a whole lot of experience with Hyper-V and recommended a VMware solution that would cost me a significant amount more, and my third company wanted me to pay a high consulting fee, or pay a lower fee (which was still higher then Proteus’s fee) if I signed a contract for 100 service hours. The second company that suggested to go with a VMware solution wasn’t bad. However, the state board of education allows me to buy into a state license agreement with Microsoft. I was able to buy Microsoft products at a 90% discount. VMware’s education discounts couldn’t even compare to this, and I would still have to buy more software licenses if I went with VMware. This was basically a no brainer for me. I would definitely recommend Proteus to other schools and IT personnel looking for some additional help.
